Young to play Massey Hall

Canadian folk-rocker Neil Young will play Toronto’s Massey Hall on May 10-11 as part of his previously announced solo North American tour in support of his latest album, Le Noise.

Tickets, $89.50, $139.50 & $189.50, go on sale Friday (April 15) at Ticketmaster, the Roy Thomson Hall box office, by phone at 1-855-985-5000 or online at livenation.com , masseyhall.com, roythomson.com and ticketmaster.ca

Young’s opening act will be Bert Jansch.

The Massey Hall concerts are also scheduled to be captured on film by director Jonathan Demme, as the final installment in a concert film trilogy, joining 2006’s Neil Young: Heart of Gold and 2008’s Neil Young Trunk Show.

The Toronto-born, Winnipeg-raised Young, who will play both acoustic and electric guitar at the Massey shows, was recently in T.O. where he picked up two Junos for artist of the year and adult alternative album of the year for Le Noise and the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award.

The 65-year-old singer-musician also recently won his second-ever Grammy for best rock song for Angry World, a track off Le Noise, produced by Canadian Daniel Lanois (U2, Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, The Neville Brothers).
The Massey Hall concerts will take place 40 years after Young’s legendary 1971 solo Massey Hall concert, in which he unveiled many of the songs that would form the body of one of his most celebrated albums, Harvest.

Buffalo Springfield to tour in September

Buffalo Springfield Tour Slated for September
Posted on February 12, 2011 by furayblog

Since the world is already talking about it, I guess it’s alright if we do now. Since the historic reunion of the Buffalo Springfield for Neil Young’s Annual Bridge School Benefit Concert this past October, something has been in the works for the hall of fame trio along with Joe Vitale and Rick Rosas to embark on a reunion tour. There is no word yet on a rehearsal or tour schedule so there is still a chance that things could fail to materialize, but this time around there seems to be larger forces at work driving things forward and only the Lord knows for what ultimate purpose.

Tour Dates continue Neil’s solo Twisted Road/Le Noise tour

BURBANK, CA — (Marketwire) — 03/07/11 — Legendary rocker Neil Young will
embark on a solo tour that will kick off on April 15th in Durham, NC, and
conclude on May 7th in Chicago. The tour, which will include stops with a
pair of nights at Boston’s Wang Center and two shows at the prestigious and
intimate Avery Fisher Hall in NYC’s Lincoln Center, will cover songs from
his current acclaimed album, Le Noise as well as classic tracks performed in
both electric and acoustic settings. Young recently won his second-ever
Grammy Award for “Best Rock Song” for “Angry World” — a track off Le Noise,
which was also nominated for “Best Rock Album.”

The eight-song Le Noise, among Young’s most critically-embraced albums, is a
collaboration between the acclaimed rock icon and musician, songwriter, and
multiple Grammy Award-winning producer Daniel Lanois, known for his work
with U2, Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson,
The Neville Brothers and many others. Le Noise was released by Reprise
Records on September 28th, 2010.
