Short review from the June 11 Neil Young & Crazy Horse concert at the LG Arena in Birminghamn, England.
Next Glasgow, Scotland on June 13.
“Only Neil Young could subject an audience to 10 minutes of sustained sonic assault and still have them eating out of his hand a few moments later.” ~ Express & Star
Reviewer Simon Penfold writes: “He and his faithful backing band had hit a peak with new song Walk Like a Giant – a lament for the failed dreams of the 60s – when it metamorphosed into a bewildering tailspin of feedback and growling guitar din that filled the LG Arena like the wrath of God.”

“Sing it like you mean it?” asked Neil Young, responding to something shouted from the crowd, pulling an
incredulous, self-amused face.
“Why the **** would you sing it if you didn’t mean it?” Good one Neil.
Neil & Crazy Horse played the Metro Radio Arena in New Castle, England on June 10. The review by Neil McCormick at the Telegraph opines:” He is not really interested in crowd-pleasing, which is precisely why he pleases his crowd so much.”
As for the 2 1/2 hour set he says “the sheer howling pleasure of it was utterly infectious.”

Described somewhat aptly? as: “A grizzly bear of a man wrings sublimely heavy tones from a battered old Les Paul and a chain of massively overdriven amps while his seasoned companions sweat and toil to forge the most elemental of grooves: such is the lumbering majesty of Neil Young and Crazy Horse live.”
Too bad they used the photo of Neil is his poncho.
This is the opening paragraph in an article from UK’s ‘The List,” talking about the upcoming European tour of Neil Young with the horse.
It’s been 12 years since they played in Scotland. The June 13 Glasgow show is sold out.
The short article is somewhat over-the-top in liberties taken with lines like “Coke-addled LA hippie aristocracy,” and “doo-wop harmonies” described as an “Embodiment of human frailty.”
Beautiful Clyde Auditorium where Neil will play with the Horse.
